Oscar, our Executive Chef here at Grazie Italian Restaurant was born and raised in Guatemala. His culinary career began early on and was inspired by his mother, who cooked daily for his family of 10. Oscar moved to the U.S. in 1995 where his love for cooking began along side Lydia Shire. One of his most proud moments was being Lydia’s sous chef when she won the James Beard Award. In 2001 he was Jacky Robert’s Banquet Chef and was a helping hand in opening the world-famous Locke-Ober in downtown Boston. After a successful 10 years there, Oscar progressed his career and moved onto become the head chef at the Towne Stove and Sprits in the Back Bay. Leading him into his role at Grazie, starting in 2021. Chef Oscar is uniquely passionate about crafting all aspects of the dining experience for his guests. He inspires his team with positivity, creativity and love, which reflects in each dish that is prepared. In his spare time, he can be found taking care of his family and cooking authentic family traditional recipes for his children and wife.
